About The AI Distillery

My name is Alba Sort. I provide AI advisory and literacy services through this website, theaidistillery.co, under the trading name The AI Distillery.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for any personal data collected through this site. AI Distillery is a trading name; I operate as a sole trader. If you have any questions about this policy or I we handle your data, you can contact me at: info@theaidistillery.co

What data is collected and why

1. Booking a discovery call

When you book a call through the scheduling tool on this site (powered by Google Calendar), Google collects your name, email address, and any other details you provide when submitting the booking form (such as a message or your organisation name).

This data is used solely to arrange and conduct the call you requested.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests -processing your request to book a meeting.

Google is the data processor for this information. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy .

2. Newsletter and email updates

If you sign up to The AI Distillery mailing list, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it) so we can send you occasional updates, resources, and news about our services.

We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to manage the mailing list and send these emails. Your details are stored securely on Kit's platform.

Legal basis: Consent. You choose to sign up, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly. Unsubscribing stops all further marketing emails.

Kit is the data processor for this information. You can read Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.

3. Contact form and enquiries

When you send us a message through the contact form (or email us directly), we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message so we can respond to your enquiry.

This data is used solely to reply to you and, where relevant, to follow up about the services you asked about.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest - responding to your enquiry.

4. Website analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site - for example, which pages are visited and how people find the site. Google Analytics collects anonymised data including your approximate location, browser type, device type, and pages visited. It does this using cookies.

Your IP address is collected by Google but anonymised before storage. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest - understanding how the site performs so we can improve it.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

AI and your data

Like many small businesses, we use AI assistants to help with tasts like drafting, research and admin. We do not put your personal data into these tools. Your enquiry messages, booking details and newsletter sign-ups are handled through the services described above, not fed into AI chatbots. It is therefore not used to train or improve AI models.

There is no AI chatbot on this website. Nothing on this site uses AI to collect, store, or process your personal data. If in future we add an AI feature that handles your data, we will update this policy first and explain what it does.

To better understand our approach to AI, please read our Responsible AI Statement.
